Hi to all my lovely followers who found me here!
I am so excited to share my website and courses with you all, and I sincerely cannot wait to watch the AP® averages go up and up as a result (the College Board won't know what hit them!) Whether you choose to purchase from my store, or not, I wanted to share a little story with you all that might give you some inspiration either way!
In my early years of high school, my academic identity was hardly fine-tuned. I was your run-of-the-mill, burnt out, "gifted and talented" student. I had to drag myself to my AP® classes on a daily basis and study motivation was rarely, if ever, present. I crammed for all of my exams and unit tests at the last minute and rarely scored above an 80% :(
My average AP® exam score at this time, despite hours of productive yet ineffective studying, was a 3; I fell short of the credit I could have earned as most colleges I later applied for only accepted 4s and 5s. Moreover, I was disappointed that my burnt-out academic identity was not performing to my standards. At the time, the forefront of my identity resided in being a basketball player.
Before my junior, I quite basketball and refocused my energy onto academics. I recommitted to the goal of becoming my high school's valedictorian or salutatorian. Through several mindset changes and one big identity shift, I began to see several developments manifest themselves in my academic career. Gaining clarity on my academic identity helped me relearn how to learn and better prepare for my exams. I learned the optimal study techniques for my learning type and noticed replicable patterns that I could apply across all AP® subjects.
As a result, I never earned lower than a 4 again, earning mostly 5s, and I became my school's salutatorian on the way to my dream college. My academic identity shift changed the trajectory of my education, and my life. Now, as an AP® coach and mentor I am excited to share how I optimized both my scores and my high school experience as a whole.
Follow along ;)
Sincerely,
Lucy
